Leadership

By the Lord's grace, Pastor Lucas has served the church in vocational ministry for over 30 years in Tennessee, Texas, and Georgia. He is a graduate of Union University (Jackson, TN) and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville, KY). In addition, he has taught adjunctly at Shorter University for the past 15 years as well as served alongside numerous mission teams in Canada, South America, and Africa.
He and his wife, Laura, have been married for over 28 years and have been blessed with three sons: Caleb, Joshua, and Elijah. As a family, they enjoy baseball, college football, and trips to the beach. In his free time, Lucas likes reading theology and scuba diving.
As a disciple of Christ, he encourages other believers to live "on mission" by realizing the gospel goes where they go.

Joseph has served as Worship Leader since 2014, continuing the musical legacy of his father, Stan Pethel. He brings not only musical talent and a heart for worship, but also a strong background in leadership and education. In addition to leading our church in worship each week, Joseph serves as Principal at Armuchee High School. He is married to Cherish, and together they have three children. His passion for Christ, his family, and his calling is evident in all he does.

Levi began serving as our Student Director in July 2025. He brings insight and a heart for students to his role. Levi is married to Samantha and they have two children, Oliver and Isaiah.

January joined our staff in 2023 and brings a joyful heart and a teacher’s gift to her role as our Director of Family Ministries. A former school teacher, she oversees our nursery and children’s areas, manages volunteers, and organizes key events like the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, and annual Fall Festival. January is passionate about creating a safe, fun, and faith-filled environment for children to grow and thrive. She is married to Adam, and together they have four children and one grandchild.

Cherish has served in children’s ministry in different ways for over 20 years at New Armuchee and joined our staff in 2026. She has an early childhood education degree, but has a deep passion for teaching God’s word to children, and growing His kingdom. In leading our Operation Christmas Child program, Cherish believes this is one way our community can fulfill the great commission.  
She and her husband Joseph married in 2004 and they have three sons: William, Jack, and Samuel.

Tracy has served as Ministry Assistant since October 2022. In this role, she helps oversee the day-to-day operations of the church and provides support across all areas of ministry. Whether it’s coordinating behind the scenes, assisting staff and volunteers, or helping things run smoothly week to week, she enjoys serving the New Armuchee family. She has two children and three grandchildren. Tracy's heart is to support the mission of the church and help create a welcoming, organized environment where ministry can thrive.

Vincent uses his gifts to facilitate the ministries of the church through care and maintenance of our facilities. He plays a vital role in the life of our church by keeping our buildings and grounds well-maintained and running smoothly. His behind-the-scenes work ensures that our church remains a safe, welcoming and functional place for worship and ministry.
